My life can be easily summarized with two words: creative exploration.
As an entrepreneur, I divide my time between working with the Drupal content management system, running my Motionblur Media Internet radio podcast network and being a semi-professional photographer.
I can often be found exploring ruins around the world. I also have a well known obsession with guitars.
I believe in and support the Mozilla Foundation's vision for the future of the Internet, as outlined in their Mozilla Manifesto.
I was incredibly fortunate to be adopted by amazing parents and raised in the country near Stratford, Ontario, Canada.
If that isn't enough, I began learning Japanese in January 2012. Hajimemashite!
My online activities can primarily be seen on Twitter, Facebook, Flickr and Instagram.
My primary computer is a MacBook Air. My mobile devices are an iPhone 4 and iPad mini. I still use an iMac purchased in 2008 that runs surprisingly well for its age.
The software I use most frequently for building websites is Drupal 7, Coda and Transmit by Panic, MAMP and Mozilla Firefox (with these extensions: Firebug, Web Developer, Adblock Plus, QuickDrag and Pearl Crescent Page Saver).
I've been shooting with a basic Canon EOS 550D since July 2010. My lenses are a 17-55mm, 10-22mm and 85mm. I prefer shooting with natural light, but occassionally use my Canon Speedlite 430EX on camera flash and Elinchrome D-Lite-it 4 studio lights. My tripod is the sturdy Manfrotto 190D and an 804RC2 head. For triggered and/or bulb mode photography, I use the handy Canon RC-6 Wireless Remote Control.
I use Apple's Aperture 3 software for photo management. My post-processing software includes random combinations of Adobe Photoshop, Nik Software, Photomatix, Adobe DNG Converter and StarStaX.
My obsession with guitars is past the 25 year marker; extending far into my youth. My main guitar is built by Story Guitars, a custom shop based in Toronto. My backup guitar is a Joe Satriani Ibanez JS1000BTB. My acoustic guitar is a 2003 Yamaha Compass Series East model with an Egyptian Hieroglyphic design. I own a few other guitars, an Ibanez SR3000 bass guitar and a Korg Triton LE keyboard. I have a variety of studio microphones and use Logic Pro as my DAW.
