Artist Statement

The road is my home. Being on the road is the genesis of exploration. It's a gateway to exploring and reflecting on society's triumphs and downfalls.

My passion for exploration and adventure is in telling stories; those that form from my own fresh perspective and others that exist from the perspective of the people who live among these beautiful, abandoned structures.

Abandoned places are a reflection on our society; they represent where we’ve been and what our future holds. They serve as a warning of mistaken paths and as a message for future possibilities.

Witnessing the decay of the past can be a reflection of the possibilities of the future.

Whether it's north or south, east or west, urban or rural, highway or back road, interior or exterior, I strive to reveal the rich histories and possible futures of these abandoned places and their surrounding environments.

For more than a decade, exploration and photography of abandoned places has taken me across the United States, Canada, Japan and Europe. I've been fortunate to have my work featured on ABC News, Buzzfeed, The Daily Mail, The Weather Channel, and many more.

I invite you to join me on this journey while viewing my photography portfolio. We can learn as much about ourselves as we can about the abandoned places themselves while exploring. Maybe we can learn something together.
